Winner of two Elliot Norton Awards: Best Director (John Kuntz) and Best Actor (Christopher James Webb) in the Small/Fringe category.

Off the Grid, the bold young company that brought Equus to a Boston storefront last year, is back with their most daring production yet, Sarah Kane's Blasted. John Kuntz directs Christopher James Webb, Alexis Scheer, and Maurice Emmanuel Parent.

Violent, unrelenting, and brutal conflict manifests both in and outside of a small hotel room where three individuals grapple with their own cruelties, fears, desires, and basest instincts. The initial critical response to Kane's first play Blasted at the Royal Court Theatre in London ranged from laudatory to morally condemning but there was unanimous agreement that a singularly original form of theatre had been born. Today, Blasted continues to shake the nerves and sensibilities of its audiences with its savagery as well as its compassion for the lowest depths of human desperation, pain, and ultimate redemption.

This production is made possible in part by The New World School of the Arts Alumni Foundation.
